This document provides information about the Project Report Presentation Add-in for Microsoft Office Project 2003, as well as answers to questions you might have. 

The Project Report Presentation Add-in allows you to easily create a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 presentation to report the status of selected tasks in your project.

How to use this document

To view the Readme file on-screen in Notepad, maximize the Notepad window. On the Format menu, click Word Wrap. To print the Readme file, open it in Notepad or another word processor, and then use the Print command on the File menu.

1.0 OVERVIEW
**********************************************************************

By using the Project Report Presentation Add-in for Microsoft Office Project 2003, you can create a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 presentation that includes task details from your project. 

You create the presentation by using the Project Report Presentation toolbar, which opens in Project 2003 after you install the add-in.

2.0 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
**********************************************************************

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003.

This download works with the following Office programs: 
Microsoft Office Project 2003 and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003.

3.0 THE POWERPOINT TEMPLATE
**********************************************************************

The PowerPoint template used by the Project Report Presentation Add-in to create the presentation is called Project Report.pot. It is stored in the location where you installed the add-in. By default, it is located in the Program Files folder under Microsoft Office Tools/Project Report Presentation.

The template can be edited. If you edit an area of the template where the Project Report Presentation Add-in normally inserts data, the presentation created by the add-in may not appear or function as expected.

4.0 KNOWN ISSUES
**********************************************************************

At least one task must be selected in order to create the presentation.

The Task Summary table slide in the PowerPoint presentation contains a row for each selected task and a column for each selected field. Approximately ten tasks (rows) and eight fields (columns) can be listed on one slide. Enough Task summary slides are created to include all selected tasks.

Up to 25 fields can be included for each task. Each field adds one column to the PowerPoint presentation slide. Optimize slide design by including only the most important fields.

The time needed to create the presentation is affected by the number of tasks and fields selected for the presentation.

The Project Report Presentation Add-in is loaded into memory when Project 2003 is started. This causes a slight delay the first time Project is used after installation or after a system reboot.

The PowerPoint program process remains active in memory until Project is closed, even after PowerPoint is closed.

This add-in tool is part of the Microsoft Office System and is supported by Microsoft. This add-in tool is for Microsoft Office Project 2003 and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 only.
