This document contains important information you should read before you install this beta release of the Microsoft(R) Windows Server(TM) Code Name "Longhorn" operating system or the Microsoft Windows Vista(TM) operating system. Unless otherwise specified, these notes pertain to both products.

For Windows Server "Longhorn", do not use the Windows Backup Disaster Recovery Tool included on the Setup disk on Itanium 2-based computers. The tool may destroy the Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) partition on these computers.
To back up and recover data on Itanium 2-based computers, use Backup from either Administrative Tools or Server Manager. To start Server Manager, click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.
