Use the Answer Wizard to Find Information on Office Update
The Answer Wizard in Office 2000 programs can now find information for you on the Office Update Web site. The Office Update Web Extensions for the Answer Wizard include links to articles and other information on Office Update, in addition to information in Help for each Office program. Once you download an Answer Wizard Web Extension for a particular program, the Answer Wizard shows you not only Help topics in your program, but also Office Update articles related to your question. Most of the time, you access the Answer Wizard by using the balloon that appears when you click the Office Assistant. If you don't use the Office Assistant on your computer, you can use the Answer Wizard tab in Help for your program.
How Do I Use the Updated Answer Wizard?
First, follow the instructions for downloading and installing the updated Answer Wizard on the download page for the Office Update Answer Wizard Extension for Office 2000.
Once installed, use the Answer Wizard as you normally do. When you need to find the answer to a question about one of the Office 2000 programs, start the Office Assistant and then type a question in the Assistant's balloon. If the Assistant is not installed on your computer, or is turned off, use the Answer Wizard tab in Help. Read To Get Help When the Assistant is Off in the article Working with the Office Assistant in Office 2000 for more information.
If the Answer Wizard locates information related to your question, the information is displayed within the balloon, just as other Help topics are; however, "WEB:" precedes the title of the article. When you click the title, the Assistant automatically connects you to Office Update and links to the article. The article is then displayed for you in your Help window.
More Information About an Article
Some Office Update articles may include a Related Info tab when displayed in the Help window. When you click this tab, it slides to the right to show you which programs the article applies to, and, if applicable, shows a list of related links or a table of contents for additional articles.
If you click a link on the Related Info tab, the page you jump to opens in a new window. Once within the new window, you can move around the Web as necessary. To return to the Help window that you were in, simply close this additional window.
