Office 2000 Add-in: MSN Communities Publishing Support 9.1 
MSN Communities Publishing Support 9.1 for Microsoft Office 2000
enables you to open and save Office documents directly from and to your
Web sites on the MSN Communities service.
Before you install this download
To install and use MSN Communities Publishing Support 9.1, you must
have Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later with the Web Folders
component installed on your computer. If you are using Microsoft Windows®
2000, the Web Folders component is already on your computer.
Install Web Folders from the Office 2000 CD on Windows 95, Windows 98
or Windows NT® 4.0
- On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click
Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the Install/Uninstall list, select Microsoft Office
2000, and then click Add/Remove.
- Click Add or Remove Features.
- Click the plus sign (+) next to Office Tools.
- Click the plus sign (+) next to Office Server Extensions
Support.
- Click the arrow next to Web Publishing, and then click Run
from My Computer.
- Click Update Now to install Web Folders.

To install this download:
- You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are
offline.
- Download the file from Office Update by clicking Download
Now! at the top left of this page and following the instructions in
the dialog boxes.
- Double-click the Msoauth.exe program file on your hard disk
to start the setup program.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Instructions for use:
Once you complete the installation, you will be able to sign in to the
MSN Communities Service from the Open and Save As dialog
boxes in Word, Excel or PowerPoint® by doing the following:
- Do one of the following:
- To save a file to the MSN Communities Service, open the file you
want, then click Save As on the File menu.
- To open a file on the MSN Communities Service, click Open
on the File menu.
- Click Web Folders on the Places Bar (My Network Places
if you are using Windows 2000).
- Click My Web Sites on MSN and then click Open.
The
Passport Please Sign In dialog box appears and you are asked to
sign in to Microsoft Passport.
Notes
- If you are already a Hotmail user, your Hotmail account information
is your Passport. If you don't have a Passport or want to get a new one,
click the Get a FREE Passport link in the Passport Please Sign
In dialog box.
- If your Passport sign-in name is a Hotmail or MSN e-mail address and
your password is at least eight characters long, select
Hotmail.com or MSN.com in the Provided by list in
the Please Sign In dialog box. If your password is less than
eight characters long, you will need to change it before signing in. See
the Microsoft Passport Member Services page for information on how to change your password.
- If your sign-in name is another e-mail address, such as
someone@microsoft.com, select Passport.com in the
Provided by list.
The first time you sign in to MSN Web Communities, you automatically
get a private Web site for your own use. The storage limit per Passport
sign-in name is 30 MB.
To remove this download:
- Quit Word, PowerPoint, and Excel if they are running.
- On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click
Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the Install/Uninstall list, select MSN Communities
Publishing Support 9.1, and then click Add/Remove.
- Click Remove All.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish to complete and exit the installer.
Note If you use multiple languages in Office, you
may also have one or more Publishing Support language packs. These show up
as entries like MSN Communities Publishing Support - French in the
Install/Uninstall list. To remove these entries, double-click
them.
Sign up for the Microsoft Office Auto Update Notification Service:
The Microsoft Office Auto Update Notification Service is an e-mail list that you can join to find out when new updates are added to the Office Update Web site. The notification e-mail messages contain the name of the update, the download location for the update, a description of the update, and a list of the Office products that will be updated. This is a great way to be notified of critical or helpful Office updates, including additional product functionality or the latest security updates.
