Word 2000 SR-1 Update: Mail Command Security 
| The Word 2000 SR-1 Mail
Command Security Update
eliminates a security vulnerability that could allow a malicious hacker to
send a virus through e-mail by using the Word 2000 Visual Basic® for
Applications command EmailSend. Once you
have installed both this update and
the Outlook 2000 SR-1 E-mail Security Update, Outlook® 2000
will prompt you if the EmailSend command in the Word 2000 Object Model attempts
to send e-mail. This update does not affect e-mail sent manually
from within Word 2000. Microsoft encourages all users of Word 2000 to install this update.
Note To use the Word 2000 SR-1 Mail
Command Security Update, you must have installed Office 2000 SR-1 or Office 2000 Service Release 1a (SR-1a). To
be prompted by Outlook 2000 when e-mail is sent by using the EmailSend
command, you must install the Outlook 2000 SR-1 E-mail Security Update. System Administrators can find
additional information and the administrator version of this update at
the Microsoft Office Resource Kit.
