Microsoft Project 2000 Converter: Import Team Manager Files Click here to email this to a friend.

The Microsoft Team Manager Converter utility for Microsoft Project 2000 lets you import the information stored in your Microsoft Team Manager 97 file to a Microsoft Project 2000 file in order to get you started using Microsoft Project 2000. Because Microsoft Project and Team Manager schedule projects differently, you may find that there are some minor variations between your Team Manager plan and your new Microsoft Project plan.

To install this download:

  1. You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are offline.
  2. Download the file from Office Update by clicking Download Now! at the top left of this page and following the instructions in the dialog boxes.
  3. Double-click the Tmcnvert.exe program file on your hard disk to start the setup program.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

Instructions for use:

After installation is complete, to run the Microsoft Team Manager converter, double click the TeamManagerConverter.mpp file on your hard disk. 

Note   You may need to modify your security settings when you first open the download to allow Microsoft Project to run the macros associated with this converter. If you receive a Security Warning dialog box, select Enable Macros.

The converter launches a three-step wizard:

  1. On the first wizard page, select the team plan you want to convert. 
  2. On the second wizard page, decide if you want to convert calendar information. 
  3. On the third wizard page, click Finish to complete the conversion.

To convert more than one team plan when the TeamManagerConverter.mpp file has been opened, in Project 2000 click Macro on the Tools menu. Then select Macros... and choose TeamManagerConverter.mpp!TeamManager_Converter. Clicking Run will launch the wizard again.

For additional details on using the converter, please see the file TMConvertReadme.txt that installs with the macro.

To remove this download:

To remove the converter, drag the files TeamManagerConverter.mpp and TMConvertReadme.txt to the Recycle Bin on your desktop.
