Office 2000 Document: A List of Useful Shortcut Keys Click here to email this to a friend.

Office 2000 Featured in Office Update's Focus on Time-Saving Tips for Office 2000
Do you find that using the keyboard is sometimes quicker than using your mouse? Shortcut keys can help you bypass menus and carry out commands directly. This Excel 2000 worksheet contains a list of useful shortcut keys for each of the Office 2000 programs. With this list, you can choose to display all of the shortcut keys or only the shortcut keys for a particular program. You can then print the list to keep by your computer, or you can simply refer back to the online version whenever you need to find a quick way to complete a task.

To install this download:

  1. You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are offline.
  2. Download the file from Office Update by clicking Download Now! at the top left of this page and following the instructions in the dialog boxes.
  3. Double-click the O2kkeys.exe program file on your hard disk to start the setup program.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

Instructions for use:

Once you have run the O2kkeys.exe setup program, an Excel 2000 workbook named A List of Useful Office 2000 Shortcut Keys.xls is installed on your computer. Double-click the file to open it into Excel 2000.

The workbook contains three columns: Product; Activity; and Shortcut Keys. Next to the name of each column is an arrow button. Use the arrow button to display specific products, activities, or shortcut keys, for example:

  • To view all the shortcut keys for Word 2000, click the arrow button in the Product column, and then select Word 2000 from the list.
To display all the shortcut keys for every product, click the arrow button in the Product column and then select All from the list.
  • To display the shortcut keystroke for printing, click the arrow in the Activity column, and then select Print in the list.
Again, to display all the shortcut keys for every product, click the arrow button in the Product column and then select All from the list.
  • If you know a particular shortcut key, you can check to see what other Office 2000 programs use the key. For example, you know that CTRL+A selects all the content in a Word 2000 document. To see what the keystroke does in other programs, click the arrow in the Shortcut Keys column and then select CTRL+A in the list.

You can filter the list in this workbook to display specific information by using the arrows next to each column name. For more information about working with filtered lists in Excel 2000, type filters in the Office Assistant or on the Answer Wizard tab in the Excel Help window, and then click Search. Read the topic Ways to find values in a list by using filters (Overview) and Automatic filter options to learn more.
