Align Objects in PhotoDraw 2000 Version 1 With Gridlines and Snap-to-Grid
In Microsoft PhotoDraw® 2000, you can use gridlines and the snap-to-grid command to align and position the objects in your picture. The PhotoDraw workspace includes vertical and horizontal rulers, as well as visible guidelines that help you align objects. You can also create an invisible grid on the workspace, and then turn on the snap-to-grid feature. When the snap-to-grid feature is turned on, objects on the PhotoDraw workspace automatically align with the gridlines, as in the following figure.

To position objects very precisely, you can customize the vertical and horizontal spacing for the grid.
Customize the spacing for the PhotoDraw grid
- On the File menu, click Picture Setup.
- Click Options.
- Enter the desired horizontal and vertical spacing in the Customize Grid boxes.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
Turn on the PhotoDraw snap-to-grid feature
- On the View menu, select Snap to Grid.
To experiment with the snap-to-grid feature, create several arrows of the same size, as shown in the illustration. Drag the arrows into the picture area and align them horizontally so that they're spaced 1 inch apart. Then align them vertically 1 inch apart. Notice how easily you can align objects!
Note To temporarily override the snap-to-grid behavior, hold down ALT when you drag an object.
