此修正檔可以解決 Windows 2000 Print Services for Unix 中可能發生的「變造的 TCP/IP 列印要求」問題 (此問題也會影響 TCP/IP Printing Services for Windows NT 4.0)。這是選用性的服務，主要用於 Windows NT 與 Unix 共用的混合環境，依照預設不會安裝。安裝此修正檔可以避免意圖不明的使用者干擾已安裝 TCP/IP Printing Services 網路上的列印服務。原本的 Windows NT 與 Windows 2000 列印服務不受此問題影響。
