Q323172: Security Update
This update resolves the "Flaw in Digital Certificate Enrollment Component Allows Certificate Deletion" security vulnerability in Windows 98. Download now to stop a Web site or HTML e-mail from deleting digital certificates on your computer and preventing you from using the services they are associated with.

This update applies to Windows 98.
Restart your computer to complete the installation.
Note Save all your work and close all applications before attempting to uninstall this component. You must have your original Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition CD available to uninstall this component.
- Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders.
- Search for 323172un.inf
- Once this file is displayed, right-click on the file and choose Install.
Note 323172un.inf is a system file. If your search returns no results, the system files might be hidden. To display system files, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
- Click Tools, and then click Folder Options (in some versions of Windows, Folder Options is located under View).
- Click the View tab.
- Under Hidden files, select Show all files.
- Make sure that Hide file extensions for known file types is not selected.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Click Search Now to restart your search.
Important System files should be visible only temporarily. To hide the system files after receiving your search results, follow steps 1 through 3, above. For step 4, select Do not show hidden or system files.
