This update resolves the "Unchecked Buffer in ASP.NET Worker Process" security vulnerability in the ASP.NET component of the .NET Frameworks. Download now to prevent a malicious user from remotely causing an ASP.NET worker process, configured to use the ASP.NET state service, to stop responding.

This update applies to computers that are running the ASP.NET component of the .NET Frameworks. ASP.NET can be installed on the following operating systems:

• Windows 2000, with the latest Service Pack (SP), (Professional, Server, Datacenter Server, or Advanced Server)
• Windows XP (Home Edition and Professional)

1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs.
3. Select Microsoft .NET Framework Hotfix Q322289, and then click Change/Remove.
