Indexing Service Update

This update resolves the "Indexing Service Fails to Find DBCS Characters in Microsoft Word 2002 Documents" issue in Windows 2000, and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) Article Q286221. Download now to enable Microsoft Word 2002 document searches to find double-byte character set (DBCS) characters.

Double-byte character sets require two bytes of memory space to display each DBCS character.

How to use
Restart your computer to complete the installation.

How to uninstall
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Select Windows 2000 Hotfix (Pre-SP3) [See Q286221 for more information], and then click Change/Remove to uninstall.
