Security Update, November 13, 2001

This update resolves the "13 November 2001 Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer" security vulnerability in Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 (SP2), and is discussed in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS01-055. Download now to prevent a malicious user from reading or altering the cookies on your computer.

This vulnerability occurs because of unsafe handling of cookies across Internet Explorer zones. A malicious Web site with a malformed Web address could read the contents of the cookies on your computer or alter the contents of the cookie. This URL can be hosted on a Web page or contained in an HTML e-mail.
