This update resolves the "SCSI Port Driver" performance issue in Windows 2000 computers, and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q276253. Download now to improve the performance of your small computer system interface (SCSI).
When the SCSI bus (which carries data and control signals from SCSI devices to a SCSI controller) is too busy to handle a request from the SCSI port driver, it fails the request and returns a Busy or Queue Full status. The SCSI port driver places the request back in its own queue and reissues the request up to 25 times. If the SCSI bus fails consecutive requests in rapid succession, an error occurs that causes the driver to reset the SCSI bus automatically. When this happens, all requests in the queue are lost, resulting in performance problems.
