During installation, you can choose from a list of components that are designed to work with Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1. If you decide you want additional components after installation, return to the Product Updates catalog to download and install them.

Please note that the localized version of this release in Arabic and Hebrew languages can be installed only on localized versions of Windows 98 and Windows 2000. The English version of this release should be used for installation on all other operating systems (Windows 95, Windows NT® and non-localized Windows 98).

Windows 2000 Users: Internet Explorer Setup for Windows 2000 does not allow you to customize the installation or use any advanced options in the Setup program. If you are running Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0, installing Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 will upgrade your computer to 128-bit encryption. If you are running Windows 2000 or Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), installing Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 will not change the current level of encryption on your computer.
