Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (Hong Kong S.A.R.)
Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) provides the latest updates to the Windows 2000 family of operating systems. These updates are a collection of fixes in the following areas: setup, application compatibility, operating system reliability, and security. SP1 is not considered a required upgrade; to determine whether to install SP1, Microsoft recommends that customers review all available Windows 2000 SP1 documentation. (This site is in English.)
Installing Windows 2000 SP1 does not change your current encryption level. Setup determines the encryption level of your operating system, either standard (56-bit) or high (128-bit) encryption, and automatically installs the Service Pack with the same encryption level.
Before you download Windows 2000 SP1, make sure your computer meets or exceeds the following system requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, or Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Disk Space: The recommended space requirements vary for installations on the different Windows 2000 platforms. For details see Space Requirements for the Service Pack listed in the readme file. (This file is in English.)
For more installation recommendations and additional information about the new Service Pack, visit the Windows 2000 SP1 Web site. (This site is in English.)
