Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) 5.5
Download Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) 5.5
and customize Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet Tools to include custom logos,
branding, favorites and more. Use IEAK to customize Internet connection settings,
Outlook Express, and the new MSN Messenger Service (available features depend on your license agreement). This version of IEAK includes
System Management Server (SMS) status reporting and enhancements to user
rights deployment, desktop management, and custom component installation. Internet Explorer
5.5 and Internet Tools feature a number of enhancements, including
improved printing functionality and support for Print Preview.
You must first download Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet Tools before installing IEAK 5.5.
Note Internet Explorer 5.5 includes 128-bit encryption. This version of Internet Explorer is eligible for export from the U.S. to all customers worldwide, except to U.S. embargoed destinations. Information on exporting Microsoft products is available at www.microsoft.com/exporting/. (This site is in
English.)
New features in IEAK 5.5 include:
- User Rights Deployment. Corporate Administrators can deploy Internet Explorer directly to users without Administrator-level
access. Using tools such as SMS to initiate the installation with
Administrator privileges, a user can log in after the system restart
and complete Setup normally without the use of scripts or multiple reboots.
- MSN Messenger Service Customization. Now you can incorporate the
MSN Messenger Service into your installation. You can also make the
customized version available as a standalone installation.
- More Robust Custom Component Installation. Now you can specify when a
custom component gets installed and that it only be installed if the
Internet Explorer installation was successful.
- SMS Status Reporting. Packages that are configured for SMS deployment
are now able to report the installation status to the SMS Server.
- Desktop Management. Desktop and Quick Launch
shortcuts such as Outlook Express, "View Channels," and "Connect to the
Internet" can now be eliminated from your users' desktops to eliminate clutter
and reduce support incidents.
