Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1) provides updates and security fixes to the Internet Explorer technology. Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 can be installed as an upgrade to existing versions of Internet Explorer, or on computers with no previous Internet Explorer installation.

Note Installing Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 will upgrade your computer to 128-bit encryption. Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 is eligible for export from the U.S. to all customers worldwide, except to U.S. embargoed destinations. 1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 1.
4. Click Add/Remove.
