Security Update, June 3, 2000

This update resolves the "Malformed Environment Variable" security vulnerability in Windows 2000, and is discussed in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS00-027. Install this update to help prevent a malicious user from consuming available memory on an affected server, which can slow down or stop the server's ability to respond. The vulnerability does not allow a malicious user to compromise data on the computer or take over administrative control.

    Restart your computer to complete the installation.

    How to uninstall
    1. Click Start, point to Settings and click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    3. Select Windows 2000 Hotfix (Pre-Sp1) [See Q259622 for more information] and click Change/Remove to uninstall.
