Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 (High Encryption)

Service Pack 5 (SP5) provides updates to Windows NTŪ 4.0 Workstation and Server (including Enterprise Edition). SP5 contains known Year 2000 updates for Windows NT 4.0. These Year 2000 updates are also available as separate Web downloads that customers may apply to a Service Pack 4 system. Providing these options gives organizations the flexibility to choose the easiest way to address Year 2000 issues. SP5 is not a required upgrade for Year 2000; Microsoft recommends that each customer consult the SP5 documentation to determine whether to deploy it. All SP5 updates are included in SP6.

Note This version of Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5 is eligible for export from the U.S. to all customers worldwide, except to U.S. embargoed destinations. Information on exporting Microsoft products is available at www.microsoft.com/exporting/. (This site is in English.)

SP5 is available in Standard Encryption (40-bit) or High Encryption (128-bit) versions. Both versions contain the same updates and differ only in the level of encryption.

Note If you have previously installed 128-bit components on your system, download this High Encryption version.

For documentation about SP5 including installation instructions and a summary of updates, see the Readme file. (This self-extracting Word document is in English.)
