The fixes included in Microsoft Windows® Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2 provide additional migration and synchronization options and can improve the stability of synchronization sessions.

The fixes provided in Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2 apply to the following components:

• Directory Synchronization Services (MSDSS)
• File Migration Utility (FMU)

Issues That Are Resolved in Services for Netware 5.03 SP2

Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2 provides fixes for the following issues:

• MSDSS will not start when newly installed on Windows Server 2003 SP1.
• MSDSS may not generate the correct object mapping for the File Migration Utility. This may result in incorrect ACL's being applied during a file migration.
• Unable to backup the system-state of a domain Controller with MSDSS installed.
• Facsimile telephone numbers were not synchronized by NDS. With the release of Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2, facsimile telephone numbers are now synchronized by NDS.
• On Organizational Units, the facsimile telephone number was not updated on reverse synchronization. The facsimile telephone number is now updated on reverse synchronization.
• In the object attribute synchronization, the postal address was not synchronized on reverse synchronization. The postal address is now synchronized on reverse synchronization.
• Schema extensions performed by Services for NetWare during installation are now included in Services for NetWare Help.
• When using the File Migration Utility file migration options, the registry key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSDSS\Parameters\File Migrate Options must have a space in-between the parameter File Migrate Options.
• Additional registry entries for MSDSS and FMU are now included in Services for NetWare Help.
• MSDSS failed to authenticate for the schema check when creating a new session using the Novell Client for Windows 4.9. The schema check is now successful and a new MSDSS session can be created.

The following feature is no longer supported in Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2:

• File and Print Services for NetWare

Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2 is supported on the following Microsoft Windows operating systems:

• Windows 2000 Server family
• Windows Server 2003 family

Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2 supports Administrative Tools for the following Windows operating systems:

• Windows 2000 Professional
• Windows XP Professional

Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2 supports the following Novell NetWare operating systems:

• Novell NetWare 3.x (Bindery)
• Novell NetWare 4.x
• Novell NetWare 5.x
• Novell NetWare 6.0 with Service Pack 3
• Novell NetWare eDirectory 8.6.2
• Novell NetWare eDirectory 8.7.x

Services for NetWare 5.03 SP2 has been tested with the following Novell NetWare for Windows clients:

• Novell NetWare Client 4.83
• Novell NetWare Client 4.9 Service Pack 1
