Overview
--------
. This lab uses 9 non-persistent Virtual PC/Virtual Server virtual machines.
  The virtual machines are started with scripts in the C:\F&SC-demo folder
  on the host computer.

. The virtual machines run Windows Server 2003 R2, and contain the following products:

   . Forefront
      . Forefront Security for Exchange
         . and Exchange 2007
      . Forefront Security for SharePoint
         . and SharePoint Services 3.0
      . Forefront Client Security (beta 2)
      . Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007
      . ISA Server 2006 SE

   . System Center
      . System Center Operations Manager 2007
      . System Center Configuration Manager 2007 (beta 2)

. Expiration
   . The Windows Server 2003 R2 evaluation copy expires on 25-Apr-2008.
     You can no longer use the virtual machines after that date.

. Warning: The virtual machines do not contain the latest security updates.
           Do not connect the virtual machines to another network,
           before you have installed all the applicable security updates.


Host Computer Requirements
--------------------------
. Hardware requirements
   . 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
   . 10.0 GB available hard disk space
   . 2.0 Ghz+ CPU

. Software requirements:
   . On the host computer:
      . Windows XP / Windows Server 2003 / Vista
      . Virtual PC 2007 / Virtual Server 2005 R2


Setup instructions
------------------
1. To install Virtual PC 2007 on the host computer:

    . Download and install the free version of Virtual PC 2007 from:
      www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=04D26402-3199-48A3-AFA2-2DC0B40A73B6
        or
      www.microsoft.com/virtualpc

2. To install the Forefront and System Center Demo on the host computer:

    . From the CDROM, start the Install-F-and-SC-Demo.vbe script.

      This script will:
       . Unpack the virtual machines to an installation folder
       . Register the virtual machines with Virtual PC or Virtual Server
          . For Virtual PC, it also configures additional options (in Options.xml).
          . On the desktop, it creates a shortcut to the installation folder.
       . Install a lab wallpaper on the host computer (optional)


Start the lab
-------------
. Double-click the "Open Forefront and System Center Demo Folder" shortcut on the desktop
  to open the C:\F&SC-demo folder, and then double-click the "Start-Demo.hta" file.

   . Note: Depending on your time zone, the first time you start the lab virtual machines,
           you may see a message that one of the virtual hard disks appears to have been
           modified. You can ignore this message.

. Log on with:
   . User name: Administrator
   . Password:  password


End the lab
-----------
. In a virtual machine window, on the Action menu, click Close.

   . Note: To avoid accidentally closing a virtual machine window during the lab,
           the Close button in the top-right corner of the virtual machine window is disabled.


Download Verification
---------------------
. To verify whether the large files are downloaded correctly, you can use the fciv.exe application
  from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290 to calculate and compare the file hash values.

  Run "fciv.exe <filename.ext>" to obtain the MD5 file hash value.

  These are the first few numbers of the original MD5 file hash values:
